Memorial Weekend

Memorial weekend we decided we would try camping with all the kids (mind you I had a 3 month old) and another family that had three young kids as well. We weren't totally on the ball and all the spots were full so we were only able to stay one night. (It actually turned out good cause I don't think I could have handled more). We stayed at Golden Gate which turned out to be really nice. For a state park it was nice, it was in the mountains, there were trees to seperate us from other campers, and it wasn't too far away. We had a fun time and with all the kids it wasn't too crazy.

Summer. She was a trooper and surprisingly did really good. I bundled her up and put her in her carseat and she slept most of the night.

In the morning we went to a lookout spot by our camp. It was great but there were some clouds so we couldn't see as much. The kids except for the babies.

Summer's Blessing

We blessed Summer on May 15th. We were debating on doing it in Utah or just here in Colorado. We didn't want her to be too old, and not fit into the dress I have so we just decided to do it here even though we knew our crowd would be few. Bryce's parents, his sister and her husband, and my dad were the only extra family members that could make it out here. So thank you to those who came. It was a nice weekend with them all. We didn't do to much. The boys were on the father and sons campout and the girls hung out. My mother in law did take Brook on her own little outing since the boys went camping. All of my other kids have been great during the blessing and no crying but shortly after Bryce started Summer started to cry. I didn't hear much of what was said because Maddy was being loud and since Summer started to cry Bryce didn't keep it too long. I have to get the notes from my mother in law :) It was good and good to have some family in town for a short bit.

Father & Sons

The weekend of the 14th Bryce's parents, his sister and her husband, and my dad came in for the weekend. Friday night was our wards father and sons outing. Bryce's dad was there so he decided to go with them. They headed over to the Chatfield campgrounds. Unfortunately they couldn't have fires so Bryce was skeptical about what they were going to do at night. That's what you do when you camp. Sit and play around the fire. Not exactly sure what they did. He happened to get at least one picture for me. I guess they had a good time though. They were up very early, had breakfast in the freezing weather, and were home by like 8:00 am. Quick little campout but fun nonetheless for all.

Disneyland Part 2

Warning: There will be a lot of pictures. So Friday morning we had passes to get into toontown before it was opened to everyone else. The kids really enjoyed it. There were no lines for the rides and we didn't have to wait that long to see the characters. I really thought Maddy would love to see them but she was not a big fan.

Also thought the line for the princesses wouldn't be that long in the morning but we still had to wait about an hour. The kids saw Tiana, Ariel, and Jasmine. Personally I was hoping for Cinderella and Belle but maybe next time. Again Maddy wouldn't even go near them.

I can never get a picture of Maddy's face let alone with a smile but I happened to get this picture even though the quality isn't great.

Friday my sister Liz and her son Kyson met up with us from Ut. Here they are on Dumbo with Brooklyn.

It's a small world. That ride was great cause it was long, relaxing, and cool, and we all could go.

Friday night we went to the firework show.

Saturday was our last day there. We did all the rest of the rides we hadn't done plus repeated some. Me, Amy, Maddy, and Summer on Buzz Astro Blasters.

The Happiest Place on Earth Part 1

A few weeks ago Bryce threw the idea of going to Disneyland at the end of April, I thought he meant a year from April. Nope. He had a few days off at the end of the month and so we did it. I wasn't sure how it was going to go with a two month old and a two year old so I went with no expectations. It turned out great and the kids did awesome. It also helped that my sister and her husband came to help out. Plus my other sister came last minute with her son. We had a really great time. We flew in late on Tuesday and Wednesday got up and hit up Disneyland.

After a forever long walk and wait through Mickey's house we finally got to meet him. I thought Maddy would be in heaven but she just got scared of the characters. I think this is our only whole family shot which is too bad.... oh well.

Amy and Matt met up with us on Thursday and we were off to California Adventure that day. My sister was so nice and got my kids shirts with thier names and a mickey head on them as well as some Mickey ears to go with them. They were really cute. Here we are only missing Summer :(

We were able to get in all that we wanted to do California Adventure that day so we just spent one day there. That night though we went and saw the World of Color show. It was pretty amazing. They do a show with water and color and then they also have images through the water all put to music from Disney movies. It was cool. Next post will be Fridays and Saturdays adventures :)

Easter

We had a few egg hunts with the kids this year. We had one with our playgroup and then that night we were "egged" by the young women in our ward. It was at night right before the kids went to bed. They were really excited about that one cause it was a surprise! Thanks young women.
We got together with a few friends and went to another hunt close by, which was indoors and had bouncy things. That was nice cause they were kind of contained. After that we had them over to dye eggs. Maddy and Taylor in the act.

Sunday morning we had an egg and basket hunt. Madison and Daddy after the find. I had put different pictures of the savior in some of the eggs so we were able to talk about why we celebrate Easter. In the kids baskets we had put Disneyland luggage tags to try and tell them they were going to Disneyland. They didn't catch on but they found out Monday night during FHE.
